Common sense should not deter from the adventure experience in an activity as specialized as the restoration of china. ..
And surely, if we were the wealthy owners of a fourteenth century Ming vase shattered, we would not have doubts about to visit a professional restorer ...
But if what is broken is an old candy-box or a plate decorated by us or received a gift from a loved one, all goods of great sentimental value but little or no market value ?
What do you say, not worth it, in this case, to try to fend for themselves ?!
After all we are only required a certain amount of patience all'impreparazione technique and we can meet first with a conscious determination to "save" our precious object, and then with some practical advice to those who have already experienced in this field .... that is your guide to painting on porcelain! ;-)
For convenience we can divide into four groups the damages which may incur ceramic products: cracks and scratches, chipped, broken net and abrasion of the decor, but this is a purely theoretical distinction because the same artifact can have more than one type of defect (if not all four together!).
